My first job was as a bank clerk at the Trustee Savings Bank where I stayed for two years before moving to the accounts department of Eaton Yale, a forklift truck manufacturer.
Over 7 years I worked my way up to management accountant, then moved to Thorn EMI at Rugeley where I passed my exams and became a fully-fledged, qualified Chartered Management Accountant.
From here, I took on the role of finance controller at EPS Dudley Ltd, a packaging company, eventually becoming finance director. This experience then led me to join KPMG, one of the largest international accountancy firms, as a management consultant where I specialised in working with SMEs.
After 2 years with KPMG, I became a partner at Baldwin & Co and finally set up my own practice here at Midas in June 1995.

I’ve also appeared as a TV extra in programmes such as Secrets of Crickley Hall shown on BBC last year and the BBC drama series Accused (2010), with Andy Serkis.
My favourite joke is . . .

He thought he was a chicken!
I can’t live without . . .
